A floor plan says a lot about a home, so Pretecture keeps as little as it can. Your projects stay in your own browser unless you choose to send them to us. We don't sell data, show ads or use outside tracking. Pretecture is run by Lukata Solutions, which is who we and us means here.

Your projects

Projects are saved in your browser, on your computer. They aren't sent to us while you design. Clearing your browser's data deletes them, so keep a backup file from Export.
A project only reaches our servers when you do one of these.
  • Keep it in your account. We store that one project until you remove it or delete your account.
  • Make a share link. We store a copy of the project as it was, for the link to show, until you switch the link off or delete your account.
  • Download paid sheets. The project is sent to draw the sheets and isn't kept after.
Shared links are long random addresses that only work for people you give them to. Shared pages are hidden from search engines.
Pictures and plans you trace stay in your browser. They never reach us, not even with a shared link or paid sheets.

Accounts

An account is optional. It holds your email address. To sign in we email you a 6 digit code, which works for 10 minutes. We keep codes and sign-in sessions only in a form that can't be turned back into the code or the session.
You can delete your account any time on your account page. That deletes the account, the project kept in it and every share link.

Payments

Paid sheets aren't on sale yet. When they are, Stripe will take payments. Your card details will go to Stripe and never reach us. From Stripe we'll keep the email you paid with, the amount, the date and whether the payment went through, was refunded or was disputed, along with the project and the tier you bought.
We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting rules need, even after an account is deleted, without linking them to the account.

Cookies and counts

We set our own cookies and no one else's.
  • A visitor cookie with a random number. It keeps the prices you see the same from visit to visit, and lets us count visits without knowing who you are. It lasts a year.
  • A sign-in cookie, only when you sign in. It lasts 90 days or until you sign out.
  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland there's no visitor cookie and nothing is counted. A cookie with no number in it tells the site so. It lasts a year.
Your browser also keeps a short list of which first steps have been counted, so each is counted once, unless you aren't counted at all.
We count a few steps in the studio, like opening it, drawing a first room, viewing 3D, exporting and buying, with the visitor number and a few short details. When something on a page goes wrong, we count that too, with the first line of the error, the kind of page and your browser's name and version, never the page's address or anything from your plan. These counts stay in our own database and help us see what works and what breaks. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we don't count anything from it.

How long we keep things

  • Sign-in codes, a day at most.
  • Sign-in sessions, until they end after 90 days or you sign out.
  • Your account and the project in it, until you delete them.
  • A share link's copy of a project, until you switch the link off, when it's deleted at once. The record that the link existed goes 30 days later.
  • Counts, two years.
  • Purchase records, as long as tax and accounting rules need.

Who else handles data

  • Vercel, which runs the site.
  • Supabase, which runs the database that holds accounts, account projects, share links, purchases and counts.
  • An email service, to send sign-in codes.
  • Stripe, for payments, once paid sheets are on sale.
Each only gets what it needs to do that job. The site and database are in the United States. We don't sell or share your home layouts with anyone else, and we won't without asking you first.

Your choices

You can see what's kept about you on your account page, and delete it there. For anything else, like a copy of your data, a correction or a question about it, write to hello@pretecture.com. We answer within 30 days.
We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising, as California law uses those words, and we don't use it to make decisions about you.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you can also object to how we use your information, and complain to your data protection authority.
Pretecture isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep anything about them.
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on the site before the change takes effect.
